Junior Auxiliary is a national women's organization representing a serious endeavor on the part of women to be active and constructive community participants and to assume leadership roles in meeting community needs.
Locally, Junior Auxiliary of Taney County has more than 40 members who, each year, serve local children and families through the chapter's various service projects. During the past year, the Junior Auxiliary of Taney County has contributed more than 1000 volunteer hours and put thousands of dollars back into the community to make it a better place in which to live.
Those hours are just part of the total 270,109 hours of volunteer service performed nationally by Junior Auxiliary members from May 2007 – April 2008. The local Chapter is a member of the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries, Inc. (NAJA), a nonprofit corporation based in Greenville, Mississippi, with 101 chapters in 8 states and more than 14,429 members.
The National Association of Junior Auxiliaries encourages its members to render charitable services that are beneficial to the general public, with particular emphasis on children, and to cooperate with other organizations performing similar services. The National Focus of the Association for 2008-2011 is Care Today ~ Character Tomorrow, and Junior Auxiliary members will strive to improve the mental, physical, social and emotional well-being of children in their communities.
